FESTIVAL ACCESS & ACCESSIBILITY
Everyone is welcome at our Festival
The Usk Choral Festival is based on two sites – St Mary’s Church and The Sessions House. Details about access and accessibility for each venue are given below.
St Mary’s Church, Usk
Wheelchair accessible with a flat paved path from the entrance to the church.
Stewards wearing High vis tabards will be on hand at the drop off point at the entrance to the church on the corner of Priory Street and Church Street (NP15 1BX). The stewards will be happy to escort people to the church and into their seats or into a wheel chair space.
There is a very limited amount of on-street parking by the church but, following drop-off, drivers will probably have to park in the Maryport Street, North, Car Park. (NP15 1ED).
There are accessible toilets in Maryport Street, North, Car Park. (NP15 1ED). There are no accessible toilets in the Church.
Please let us know in advance if anyone who is attending needs wheelchair access so we can make provision by saving a suitable space for the person concerned in the church and also for any people who are coming with them.
The Sessions House, Usk
There are two disabled parking spaces at the rear of the Sessions House accessed via Priory Gardens.
Wheelchair access is through a door at the rear of the building which is accessible up a ramp from the disabled parking spaces.
Stewards, wearing high vis. tabards will be on hand to offer help to those using the rear entrance to The Sessions House.
There are accessible toilets in Maryport Street, North, Car Park. (NP15 1ED). There is one toilet that can be reached from the court room but this would not have room for a wheelchair user.
Please let us know in advance if anyone who is attending needs wheelchair access so we can make provision by saving a suitable space for the person concerned in the floor of the courtroom, and also for any people who are coming with them. (The climb up the stairs to the gallery will not be suitable for those with physical disabilities).
